Why your profile matters
Employers often search before they post an opportunity
Many employers begin by browsing available Nomads or searching profiles by skill. If they find someone suitable, they can make direct contact without posting a job listing.
A useful profile helps you be considered for both advertised and unadvertised opportunities.
Your Nomad journey
Three steps that make you easier to find
STEP 01
Register as a Nomad
Create your account so employers can find your profile and understand the kind of work you are seeking.
STEP 02
Describe your experience
Add a specific professional headline and a detailed summary of the skills, roles and industries you know.
STEP 03
Share your route
Explain roughly where and when you expect to travel so employers can recognise when you may be available nearby.
Be specific
“Can do anything” is difficult to search
Employers search for particular skills and experience. General phrases provide very little information and rarely match the keywords employers use.
State what you do, how much experience you have and where that experience came from. Detailed profiles save employers time and give them more confidence to contact you.
Professional headline example
“Baker with 36 years’ experience across Australia”
This is clearer and more searchable than a broad statement such as “can do anything.”
Keep your profile current
The Nomad search lists recently updated profiles prominently. Review your details regularly so employers can see that your availability is current.
