A mixed farming operation at Bowhill on the River Murray in South Australia is looking for an experienced header driver to join the team for the current broadacre harvest season.

The farm grows broadacre crops as well as irrigated onions and carrots, with approximately 1,000 hectares of cropping to harvest.

The position is available now through to January 2027, with the possibility of further work beyond harvest for the right person.

This opportunity would be particularly well suited to a single traveller looking for a solid block of paid seasonal work.

The role

Duties will include:

✅ Operating the header during grain harvest
✅ Working as part of the harvest team
✅ Assisting with general harvest operations as required
✅ Helping keep machinery and harvest operations running safely and efficiently

Previous header and broadacre harvest experience is essential.

Further work available

Once the grain harvest is complete, there may also be opportunities to stay on for the farm’s:

✅ Onion harvest
✅ Onion packing season
✅ Other farm work as required

This could provide ongoing work beyond January for someone who would like to stay longer.

Bowhill is situated on the River Murray, around:

• 1.5 hours east of Adelaide
• 30 minutes from Murray Bridge
• 30 minutes from Mannum

Access is via sealed roads, making it an easy regional location to reach and a great base while working through the harvest season.
